Global Markets is looking for a talented data steward who wants to work with us to optimally utilize the power of data. As a data steward, you are responsible for the business aspects of data management, and you are an important link in implementing this in accordance with all laws and regulations and adhering to the ABN AMRO data standards.
Your job
The increasing importance of data for our business operations and innovations has led us to a distributed Data-Mesh architecture, which makes us better prepared for the future.
As a data steward you work within our Data Domain. Together with your colleaugues, you are responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the data lifecycle, from creation and collection to preparation, usage, storage, and deletion.
You are responsible for analyzing and solving data quality issues, defining and registering Golden datasets & data products including metadata, data lineage, definitions and the Business data model within your domain.
You ensure that the data lineage is in order, we know exactly which data is available for consumption and where it is consumed.
To this end, you support use case owners in drawing up a complete and clearly designed use case, review the desired data and validate data sharing agreements.
You are the link in our data quality. Together with the business, you define the data quality requirements, you give the right priority to data issues and ensure that they are resolved as quickly as possible.
Working environment
As Data Steward you are an employee in the Data Domain Markets and part of the Grid Financial Markets. The Grid is part of Product Strategy, Management and Control Markets and consists at this moment of 7 department of which four value chains, the Data Domain Markets Support & Oversight team, a Data Products management team and one Advanced Analytics team. Three of the value chains are responsible for a product type (i.e. FX & Commodities, Credits & Rates and Securities Finance, Equities & Treasury) and one value chain is supportive of the other three value chains (Cross Product).

Your profile
You take a keen interest in the dynamics of financial markets and have a good understanding of the data in the markets data domain; you can level with the specialists and their expertise, and you are a trusted sparring partner for the value chain. You are involved and motivated and able to achieve goals. You feel comfortable keeping relevant stakeholders connected.

- Understanding of the financial markets products and processes
- Proven experience in data governance policies & procedures and able to improve data processes and policies;
- Understanding of data management concepts, principles and practices throughout the entire data lifecycle
- Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey requirements in a clear and accessible manner;
- Effective cross-functional collaboration skills with stakeholders at multiple levels in the organization;
- Experience with the agile way of working within ABN AMRO (including scaling ceremonies and events), and experience with the Scrum or DevOps method
- Skilled in process design and process management
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and advisory skills
- Result oriented with an open and transparent style of communication
We are offering
- The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
- The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
- Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
- Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
- Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your position).
- An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
