Role purpose

Ensure the organization’s market data usage, licensing, and distribution practices comply with vendor agreements, internal policies, and applicable regulations. Reduce legal, financial, and operational risk through effective controls, monitoring, and stakeholder guidance.

Core responsibilities

• Manage compliance with market data vendor contracts, entitlements, and permitted use across business units.
• Design, implement, and maintain market data governance, policies, and control frameworks.
• Monitor usage and distribution (including internal redistribution and external sharing) and investigate exceptions or potential breaches.
• Partner with Procurement, Legal, IT, Risk, and front-office teams on onboarding, renewals, audits, and remediation plans.
• Support vendor and internal audits by preparing evidence, responding to findings, and tracking corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate inventories of data feeds, applications, users, and entitlements; improve data lineage and documentation.
• Deliver training and communications to promote compliant consumption of market data.
• Produce compliance metrics, management reporting, and recommendations for process improvements.

Required skills and experience

• Experience in market data compliance, governance, vendor management, or financial services risk/compliance.
• Strong knowledge of market data licensing concepts (entitlements, redistribution, derived data, usage reporting).
• Ability to interpret contracts and translate requirements into operational controls.
• Analytical skills to review usage data, identify anomalies, and drive investigations to resolution.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.
• Comfort working with data inventories, asset registers, and reporting tools; attention to detail.
