You directly support the execution of the ABN AMRO strategy: a Personal Bank in a Digital Age. You are part of the Data & AI Strategy & Design team within the Central Data Office. You set the strategic direction, shape new concepts, and drive complex, bank‑wide initiatives at the intersection of data, AI, regulation and business strategy. You have a diverse stakeholder field, spanning across technical and business areas as well leadership and operational levels.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain and further develop the bank‑wide Data & AI Strategy.
- Shape strategic direction and state of the art on topics such as:
- Unstructured data management (e.g. documents, text, voice, images)
- AI‑ready data (data quality, metadata, lineage, governance‑by‑design)
- AI technologies, with a strong focus on its potential and responsible usage.
- Define operating models, roles and responsibilities to translate the strategy into execution
- Spot and assess external trends and internal drivers for change, including developments in AI, data regulation and technology.
- Act as a trusted sparring partner for the Head of Data & AI Governance, the Chief Data Officer and senior leadership.
- Lead and support transformational initiatives (e.g. Federated Data Governance).
- Ensure strategic recommendations are translated into concrete actions, roadmaps and decisions, and actively followed through to implementation.
- Prepare and support executive decision‑making for the Executive Board and Supervisory Board.
Werkomgeving
You will work within the Central Data Office – Data and AI Governance – Strategy & Design team, closely collaborating with other CDO teams, IT teams, data domains, business lines, international branches and subsidiaries. We are in constant collaboration with all business lines, international branches and subsidiaries of the bank. Together, we operate at the forefront of data and AI in banking, working with some of ABN AMRO’s most critical value assets.

You are a senior, execution‑oriented strategiser. You thrive in ambiguity and bridges strategy and delivery, backed by a strong background in consulting, driving complex programmes, Data Management, Analytics and AI. You can quickly master new topics, form clear strategic opinions, and translate strategy into executable change within a complex organisation.
Experience & skills
- Master’s degree.
- Proven experience in Data Management, Data Governance, Analytics and/or AI.
- Strong consulting background, with experience advising senior stakeholders.
- Experience leading enterprise‑wide data or AI initiatives.
- Familiar with frameworks and regulations such as DAMA‑DMBOK, Data Mesh, BCBS239, AI Act or similar.
- Strong analytical, conceptual and communication skills.
