Solutions architect

As a solutions architect, you’ll collaborate with business stakeholders and domain architects to turn complex IT challenges into smart, secure, and compliant solutions that drive the entire organisation forward; nationally as well as internationally.
What you are going to do
As a customer solutions architect at NN Group, you play a key role in major IT projects, connecting the needs of our business units with the standardised IT services provided by Group IT. Our domain architects design and manage specific areas, and the wishes of the business don’t always fit within these standardised solutions. That’s where you come in. You collaborate with business and IT domain architect to match the projects as well as possible, and in case of missing capabilities you work with the domain architects to drive innovation into their domains. You look at the bigger picture, working closely with the business to understand their requirements and ensuring they can adopt and use our platforms effectively. Your role is to make sure these solutions not only work functionally, but are also secure, compliant, and fully aligned with NN Group’s standards and regulations. Your main responsibilities include:
- Ensuring business requirements fit into the technical solutions NN Group IT | EET provides
- Supporting and coaching business units in onboarding their solutions onto our IT services and infrastructure
- Validating that implementations are secure, compliant, and aligned with company-wide architecture guidelines
- Collaborating with domain architects to resolve gaps between standardised offerings and real-world use cases
- Acting as a trusted advisor for the business, helping them adopt and benefit from the technologies we deliver

- Salary between €5,363 and €7,661 (based on 40 hours per week) depending on your knowledge and experience. It is also possible to work 36 or 38 hours per week

Who you are
On-prem and cloud IT infrastructure, IT architecture, solution architecture and security: these are the fields in which you feel most comfortable as a solutions architect. And no matter how complex these topics become, you always find a way to tackle them creatively and explain the issues in a simple way to others. The IT landscape within NN develops constantly. You know exactly how the changes can be shaped to fit the IT infrastructure.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT
- At least 5 years of experience in IT in a complex and dynamic environment, as well as in Data Center based computing, cloud-based computing, networks and security
- Knowledge of design and documentation tools like Archimate/Sparx and generic drawing tools
- Skills in drafting designs and advice that lead to compliant solutions
- Experience in financial or insurance institutions are a welcome addition

Who you will work with
As a solutions architect, you will be part of the Engineering Enablement Technology (EET) team within Group IT at NN Group. In this team, you will work alongside two experienced solutions architects who are eager to share their knowledge and expertise. Even if you are still developing your skills, you will find plenty of opportunities to learn from them. Both within the team and across NN Group, the environment is highly supportive.
